American Sail Training Association The American Sail Training Association, with headquarters in Newport, Rhode Island, is a non-profit, national organization dedicated to bringing a wealth of opportunities at sea, under sail, to people of all ages and backgrounds, and to coordinating the activities of the whole community of sail training vessels. Sail training is more than learning to sail. On a tall ship you learn from sailing -- from the ship, from the sea, from yourself.
