Godspeed
Painting by Mike Haywood of the Voyage of the Susan Constant, Godspeed and
Discovery, which again portrays the 3 ships weathering a stiff breeze in mid
Atlantic nearly 400 years ago. He has given the viewer a sense of the
spirit of adventure and dogged determination of these first pioneering
settlers. Just how a boat the size of the Godspeed ( the vessel on the right )
carried over 50 settlers, ship's crew and supplies for 5 month's across the
Atlantic in the middle of winter defies belief.
