Schooner Kathy Ann is 40' on deck and 48' over all. The hull is 1" thick fiberglass and the rest is 2" thick white oak and South American mahogany. She carries approximately 1000 sq. ft. of sail and is a stiff and powerful sailor. Having a full keel and 4' draft she is designed primarily for coastal work. Equiped with an 80hp diesel engine it handles rivers and harbors with ease. She has a large cockpit capable of holding many people. Below she is a very roomy but basic schooner with wood stove and accomodations for five. Completed in 1973 at East Blue Hill Maine for a local couple. For the next 13 years she served as a summer cruising schooner for the owner and his family in the Northern parts of the Gulf of Maine. I fell in love with her at first sight when I aquired her in 1996 then brought her south to southern New England waters and have used her as a sail training and personal cruising vessel ever since. Currently she has been undergoing some rehabilitation work at Kingman Marine on Cape Cod where she resides now.
