"Ocean Star" is a 2-masted steel-hulled schooner designed by Bill Peterson, built by Marine Metals, Norfolk VA, and launched in 1991.
She is owned and operated by Navigator Publishing Corp, publisher of "Ocean Navigator," "Ocean Voyager," and "Professional Mariner" magazines.
Home port is Portland ME.
She operates as a navigation training vessel and carries six adult students. She is crewed by a licensed captain and mate, two deckhands, and a cook.
"Ocean Star" operates in the New England and Canadian waters during summer, and the Carribean and Gulf of Mexico waters in winter, making frequent stops in Bermuda during her transits north and south.
