Iris
Iris was built in 1916 and is a fine example of
the last generation of sailing luggers. In 1929 she received her
first engine and was converted into a commercial trading vessel,
then based in Denmark she sailed for 40 years on the Baltic Sea.
Restored to her former glory in 1981and she now sails under the
Dutch flag for the second time in her life. From her homeport of
Rotterdam Iris cruises all over NW Europe offering sailing
holidays, day sails, corporate events and is a regular at the
major maritime festivals.
The traditional appearance and historical importance of the
ship are perfectly balanced with the modern demands of comfort and
safety. Iris is a fast, comfortable ship providing great
entertainment on the water.
